What we have in this passage are the outstanding characteristics of the Judgments of God. These are the salient features of the judgment of God. We do not have in this passage a special judgment of the gentile nations for how they treated Israel during the 70th week of Daniel. There will be a judgment seat of Christ at which believers will be made manifest and their works tried. There will be a great white throne judgment at which lost be people will be judged according to their deeds. Matthew 25:31-46 sets forth in most eloquent wording and style the mind boggling significance of the judgment to come for both believers and lost people. Christian people will be astounded at the undreamed of significance of their works. Lost people will know immediately that they are lost and they will know what they lost by loving darkness instead of light. Of phenomenal importance in this passage is the fact that only sins of omission are mentioned. That does not mean that sins of commission will not be judged. They will. But there is a reason why in this passage only sins of omission are in view.
