Daniel chapter seven is repeating much of the revelation given by God to Nebuchadnezzar in chapter two. Four major empires beginning with the current one of the time, Babylon, are explained using different illustrations as metals were used in chapter two and beasts in chapter four. There is a progress of revelation as more detail was given to Daniel concerning the plan of God being unfolded through earthly empires leading up to the establishment of the final earthly empire over which Jesus Christ will rule. Further details are discussed that were later revealed to the apostle John while receiving his revelation on the island of Patmos. The progress of revelation makes clear God has not changed His plans and they are being carried out on His perfect schedule for His creation and coming kingdom.
