The bowl judgments are more devastating than anything that has ever come upon the earth. The judgments demonstrate the righteous character of God in pouring out His wrath on sin and sinful people.
In response to the devastation coming upon the earth, amazingly even knowing it is judgment from God, people blaspheme God and refuse to repent. Having rejected the love and grace of God, they are not softened by the wrath of God either. The nature of this response testifies to the condition of the heart of these people as well as the righteousness of God's judgment.
The natures of the bowl judgments have parallels to the plagues in Egypt although much worse being worldwide. The fourth bowl judgment is something of a precursor of the ultimate judgment of fire to come. But first there will be a gathering of the evil world forces in opposition to God at a place identified as Har-Magedon.
