The Church will never go unopposed in its stand for the Truth of God. If the Truth gets corrupted in the Church then its power and purpose will be compromised in whatever extent it may still be given out.
The apostle Paul described the character and conduct of false teachers who come into the Church and do the devil's work from within of corrupting the Truth. These characteristics become a way of identifying false teachers. Once identified, they are to be avoided, as difficult days for the church set in.
The description Paul gives revolves around what these people are not.
