Time and again Pharaoh said he would let the Israelites go and time again he did not. Sometimes the enemy will trick us to think that the sinful times we lived in were not so bad, this is one of the thoughts the Israelites had to fight against in the wilderness. The Israelites, who were once impoverished slaves, in this passage now have expensive clothes and jewelry. We need to realize that God has a plan and He knows precisely what is going to happen and when. When the fullness of time came, 430 years to the day, that is when God had planned to and did deliver His people. Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. It was God's plan to teach salvation from generation to generation. The Lord was the One who brought His people out of Egypt.
