Elisha in a time of famine visits the sons of the prophets. In the pot, which was to give strength, there instead is found death. But through the power of God there is victory over death.
1. The dearth of the land. - the reason for it - the effect of it. - the blessings through it.
The sons of prophets were having their souls fed by the word of God. What about you?
2. The danger in the lentils. - because there was a lack of discernment. - because there was a mixing of truth with error.
The same is true of the apostacy in our land - the result, there is death in the pot. 2Cor6 v14,15.
3. The deliverance of the Lord. - when the error was exposed. - when the meal was added.vs41.
The meal is a type of God's Incarnate word, the Lord Jesus Christ.
