To some, sending a servant to do a soldier or a king's work seems stupid. But to God's people, who have come to see the gloris of the Servant of Jehovah, there is no greater wisdom. The Servant Songs of Isaiah are truly wonderful and deep beyond human expression. This is the first of a series of sermons that considers the lovely Jesus, God's Servant, in His remarkable human frailty. God held Him strongly, therefore, even though He was frail, He did not break. What a lesson this is to believers. As God sent Christ into the world, so Christ has sent us. We are weak and take a trememdous battering in this aggressive world. But take heart; just as God accomplished His great work through Christ in His weakness, so will He accomplish His great work through us in our humanity. May God bless you richly through this consideration of the Servant of Jehovah. God holds His Servant's hand. God's Servant is faithful.
