We come this Christmas day to another prophecy from the Pentateuch that tells of the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Though the text, strictly speaking, does not mention the birth of the Messiah, it most certainly does speak of His coming into the world, which is the thing we celebrate on this magnificent holiday. We gather here to worship this one, the star from Jacob whom Balaam saw with prophetic sight so long ago. My point today is simple: Because Balaam saw and prophesied the reign of Christ, who would crush the serpent's seed and rule the nations, you need to submit to that reign on Christmas day.
