As we have been going through Daniel's prophesies, we have been seeing the promise of Judea trampled on by armies for hundreds of years. Now the angel is going to go to the positive promise that God is doing it all to deliver a people. There will be a time of trouble worse that anything that happened to Israel before, but at the same time those who are found written in the book of life will be delivered. In the New Testament, the Sadducees argued that there was no resurrection. It is clear that they rejected the book of Daniel. As we come to the end of the book, the resurrection is the ultimate comfort for the believer. Some will rise to everlasting life and some to everlasting contempt. The comfort for Daniel is that he would arise to his inheritance at the end of the days. That should be where our hope is as well. Not on where things go well or poorly toward us on this earth, but whether we will be found written in the book.
