So, what are the 2 birds? First and foremost - Christ. Remember, This is Genesis 15 where God/Jesus Christ says, “Take me...” in answer to the question Abram asked Him, “Lord God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?”, or, “How shall I know that I am saved?” And remember, every beast and bird, the heifer, the goat, the ram, and therefore the turtledove and the pigeon, are also symbols of Christ, even though Abram hasn't seen it yet. But this is God speaking to us throughout the ages. No part of Scripture stands alone. It is up to us, with the help of a good pastor, to find the mystery's and riches of this conversation God is having with us and His Angels (in case you've forgotten, this is all on display for the fallen and unfallen heavenly host, as well as for us). And just so you know, only the first two sentences of this paragraph are actually part of pastor Chronister's lecture. Everything after that is just me, Supper Dave (if I exist), trying to fill you in on some important things we've learned so far.
But let's take another look at Genesis 15:8. “How shall I know that I am immortal?” That's what Abram is saying.
Now take a look at Leviticus 14. Here we have the procedure that God commands to be done when a leper is healed... but... No one is ever cured of leprosy. Until Luke 5:15! Jesus healed thousands of them! And the medical and religious community hates this! Why? Well, I'll let this pastor explain it. Besides, he's much more entertaining than I am. Side note: today's Leprosy (Hansen's Disease) is curable. So, can we assess that it's not the same thing as back then?
Anyway... write or call this pastor with encouragement and questions.
