Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ: One of the games you play with a baby is the "disappearing toy." You hide a toy behind your back and he thinks it's gone. You pull it from behind you and he is happy to see it. Kids are not so smart.
When something is not visible, they think it doesn't exist and they look for something else to play with.
Unfortunately, that is what the world often thinks about God… because they don't see him, they think he doesn't exist and they can then do whatever they want.
And more unfortunately, even some Christians think in a similar way. Many, by the way they live, act as if God made us and went on a long journey.
They then live however they want because his laws don't matter.
This is why this doctrine is so important.
Our goals are: That as the redeemed children of God through Jesus, you will learn of the presence and power of the invisible God as you play your part in building his kingdom.
Our headings are: Doctrine of the Invisibility of God Applications of the doctrine of the invisibility of God
Belgic Confession Article 1: We all believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that there is a single and simple spiritual being, whom we call God— eternal, incomprehensible, invisible, unchangeable, infinite, almighty; completely wise, just, and good, and the overflowing source of all good. |
