Theme: Though we may suffer, know Jesus can relate to us having suffered greatly that He might lead us to Glory! In vv. 1-2 the Psalmist cries to God for deliverance. We learn from this that we can and should take our burdens to God. In vv. 3-5 the Psalmist recalls God's deliverances of others. It is good for us to remember God's past faithfulness! In vv. 6-18, the Psalmist expresses great distress. In application, it is important for us to remember Christ's sufferings. It can be a great encouragement in our sufferings to remember all that Christ suffered for us in order to give us great hope! In vv. 19-21 the Psalmist seeks God's deliverance for Himself. We need to draw near to God as well. The greatest enemy we have is Satan, and he wants to devour us. It is imperative that we draw near to God and stay close to Him. In vv. 22-31, the Psalmist praises God for deliverance. Don't keep the hope you have in God to yourself; proclaim His redemption to others! Let us not live in fear and defeat. We will all suffer in this life, but we are not alone! Christ suffered greatly for us, to make us His dear children, and we have the privilege of being His representatives of hope to a lost and suffering world! Proclaim it to those you know!
