In the book of Revelation, God addresses seven churches, and we should take heed to the commendations as well as warnings given to them. The church of Laodicea was rebuked for its lukewarmness, and Jesus calls them to repent. We need to be on guard against lukewarmness in our own lives. This church thought they were rich and needed nothing; they were blind to their true spiritual condition. We need to examine our hearts to see if we are truly walking with Christ and to make sure we are laying up treasure in Heaven.
