Ps. 8's the 1st in our Psalter that's solely a psalm of praise. This psalm helps us realize life's not all about us. 1.) Praise God, Your Sovereign Creator. He is our sovereign & majestic. His name inspires awe, when we understand the majesty of it, because He made all things. We're able to see some of our creators splendor because He has chosen to reveal it to us through creation. God even chose to reveal Himself in the cry of the weak & the infant. He also created His word to be a barrier against the enemy. 2.) Praise God that He Would Value Humans. God has created so many other things far above man, yet He's chosen to bring us into existence; not only to create man but to actually care for him. Because He cares for us so much, He's always present for us. As the master, He loves those who follow Him. 3.) In vs. 5 the word angel is the Hebrew word "Elohim" which means God. The psalmist is saying man is a little lower than God. God has put in charge of managing His creation. 4.) How do we respond to our Sovereign Creator? I.) Awe! II.) Gratitude & Praise! III.) Obedience - enter into His work.
