Human glory is a constant pursuit for us all but glory begins with God revealing himself, as favourable to us and present with us. This is the source of true human dignity or glory. Much of what we call glory is us trying to deal with the shame we feel, the desire to cover up something about ourselves that we don't like or know is not acceptable. The real shame is having something else other than God that is the centre of our lives. The story of Moses at Mt. Sinai, shows him dealing with the shame of Israel. He asks to see God's glory. Only this could provide an identity and future for himself and for the people he led.
