Luke 3:21-22 Is this not the most amazing story you have ever heard? Have you ever seen the Holy Spirit descend in the bodily form like a dove? Have you ever seen God? There are those who claim that they have these expierences every day all day, and they claim that if you are an enlightened Christian you will too. When people see this account they want to allagorize it or say that this is not originally in scripture. They claim that Jesus was a man like any other and this is just some scribes fanciful addition. What you have to understand it the Truth of Christianity does not come from emotion or opinion, or feelings, or expierences. That is shallow, unbiblical and false. It denies Scriptures admonition in Jeremiah 9:23-24 that we are to boast in KNOWING GOD. That is with an intellectual cognative understanding:To Understand is to perceive the intended meaning of (words, a speaker, or a language). perceive the significance, explanation, or cause of. interpret or view in a particular way. To Know is to Be aware of through observation, inquiry, or information. have knowledge or information concerning. be absolutely sure of something. According to Luke 3:21-22 We see Impossible events and Impossible truths:The Heavens were opened. The Holy Spirit Manifested Himself in the form Like a dove. God the Father, who is Spirit, Spoke. God the Son, was incarnate in bodily form. While this is truly impossible to believe from a human understanding, the truth that God reveals Himself, has been taught throughout Scripture. In the OT We see God Revealing Himself in personal form What is called a Theophany, and Jesus in a Christophany.
