God is our Father. The Bible reveals Him as such and refers to Him as such repeatedly. But there is a move afoot (and has been for nearly 40 years now) to remove all reference to God's maleness; to make Him at least gender-neutral; and for some to even make Him feminine ‚Äď to refer to Him as ‚ÄėOur Mother.' There is and has been a huge push in American Christianity towards egalitarianism. Egalitarianism believes there should be no distinctions between male and female. That there are no roles or functions unique to males or females ‚Äď and the advocates of this belief are willing to distort, attack and change Scripture in order to try and make this belief seem Christian.
This sermon looks at many passages of Scripture. It also looks at the writings of many leading ‚Äúevangelical egalitarians‚ÄĚ and their attempts to redefine God as ‚ÄúOur Mother.‚ÄĚ This sermon was preached on Father's Day, June 19th, 2011. MercySeat.net 43 min.
