The amazing letter from Christ to the church at Laodicea. To understand the subtleties of the letter we must understand the culture of the city.
...If there has been any verse ripped out of context and twisted to fit the presuppositions of Arminianism, it is 'Behold, I stand at the door, and knock,' etc.. It has nothing whatever to do with Jesus knocking at the door of a sinner's heart begging for acceptance.
...Laodicea is like many modern churches: liberal, tolerant, 'open-minded,' willing to sacrifice the Gospel for the sake of peace. When they deny Biblical truth in the name of acceptance and toleration, such as ordaining sodomites and theological liberals to church office, our Lord vomits such "churches" out of His mouth.
...The Laodicean church had sold out to the culture. Jesus expects His church to change the world, not be changed by it; to radically transform the culture, not allow the culture to transform it.
...Today Laodicea is an unexcavated pile of rocks. It lies forgotten by God because it forgot God.
...No doubt there are many in hell right now who thought they were on their way to heaven.
...If you believe what Christ says is true, then it is the most important thing in the world, and if you believe Christ your life will show it. If serving Christ is worth anything, it is worth everything; indifference is inexcusable. He vomits out the indifferent.
