To combat this temptation, we see David's contentment with the Lord as his inheritance; confident that his promised portion is being preserved. He admires the beauty of God's provision & encourages himself with the soothing realization of possessing eternal wealth in the Lord. We learn to abhor the sin of discontentment. Let us not age & become brittle of spirit, but, by grace, acquire a calm contentment, marveling at the grace of God. Our heritage is beautiful. After all, our inheritance is the Lord Himself!
