Stand on the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the Apostle Paul or plunge into hopeless unbelief and despair. Those really are the only two options—come to know and trust Jesus Christ as Lord or be left to your own resources and estrangement from the God who created you.
The Apostle Paul understood this. He had lived much of his life estranged from God and ignorant of Jesus before the Lord revealed Himself to him and changed his life forever. As a result he became committed to making Jesus known to people throughout the Roman Empire. He did this in two ways: 1) He traveled to key cities and towns to teach people about Christ, and 2) He wrote letters that explain the gospel of Christ.
The greatest of Paul's 13 letters that we have in the New Testament is his letter to the Romans. Paul gives more of a systematic explanation of the gospel in that letter than in any of the other 12. In it he emphasizes the grace of God in the gospel.
