This Psalm shows us that the expectation and hope of our deliverance from our sins in the sight of God, is directly related to what Jesus has become in the sight of God in His identification with our sins. This deliverance will come about for us at the 2nd Advent of Christ in the fullest sense. In this Psalm we find David confessing his sins in verses 8,11, and 18. Since David is a type of Christ, in what sense does the Lord Jesus, who is the fulfillment of the type, our Covenant Head and King, come to see Himself as a sinner? It is by His taking our sins to Himself so that He is seen as the sinner in the sight of God. Do you ask the Lord to forgive your sins daily? Forgive my iniquity for it is great. That was the prayer of Jesus so that you might be delivered.
