INTRO: Somehow I failed to plan a message for this Sunday as I have just completed the series on demonology. This very seldom happens to me but when I have a time which I did not plan for ahead of time, I use that opportunity to study out some issue I did not allow myself time for otherwise and this Sunday is such a Sunday and let me tell you about the subject. Some time ago in Sunday School we were discussing justification. This is found in section 3 of part III of our Catechism. It is question 14 which says, “Wherein does justification benefit us?” Now Christian justification is when we are declared righteous before God. Justification is an incredible doctrine. And now the question is, how does it benefit us? And the answer goes like this: To have peace with God as his children, to have been freed from the bondage of sin, and to be aided in perfecting holiness (Rom. 5:1; John 8:36).
