It's the Lord Jesus who commanded and commissioned Paul and us to bring His gospel of saving grace to a veiled world. It is also the Lord who gave us the power of the gospel and His promises to shatter the darkness by removing the veil covering the hearts, ears, and eyes of those perishing without Him.
Join us as we consider Acts 26 and 2 Corinthians 3-4 which help us understand why the world rejects Jesus and promises tucked away in Isaiah 25 that are explained in the Newer Testament books of Colossians and 2 Corinthians.
This divine work is essential to the redeeming work of grace and applied when the gospel is heard and known in truth. Fundamentally speaking… no new creature, in Christ Jesus, will ever be recused or regenerated apart from this promise and redeeming work being accomplished by God through the message of the gospel.
He promises… to remove the veil of darkness/blindness over the heart or as Isaiah describes it, "And He will destroy on this mountain the surface of the covering cast over all the people, and the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death forever…" (Isaiah 25:7-8)
I pray this word encourages, equips, and edifies you and those you love and lead.
He commanded Paul… "go, to open the eyes of those in darkness and death…" Acts 26:18
