We come today to the penultimate and climactic verse of this letter. We have seen the summit of revelation in the declaration that God is love, but John overtops even the grandeur of that declaration in how he finishes his letter with the announcement that Jesus Christ is the real God and that He is eternal life. I want to show you this morning how John uses structure to undercut our ideas about how important we are, and instead to magnify how important and glorious Jesus is! So let's look at that together.
