A New Kind of Birth_09PT2 John 3:16-25Did you understand the Gospel the first time you heard it? Did you accept it after you understood it? Nicodemus, in search of something that would fill his empty heart is told by the Lord Jesus, "You must be born again." Nicodemus does not understand what the Lord is saying, but wants to know how to be born again, indicating a desire for what the Lord was talking about. Nicodemus wanted a private meeting with Jesus. Unsatisfied. We'll just meet him with God. With the crowd, there are things that you can't get from Jesus with all of the crowd. When he met with Jesus, Jesus got right to the heart of the matter and told Nicodemus that he would not see heaven unless he was born again. Born in water and in the Spirit. Some believe this refers to baptism, but baptism was not even invented back in that time plus they didn't just drip a little water on top of their heads. They emerged people completely in the Jordan river. Nicodemus said to Jesus, how can these things be? And Jesus answered him, Are you the teacher of Israel? And yet you do not understand these things? No one can ascend into heaven except the one who came down from heaven. And the essence of Christianity is their spiritual life must come down from heaven to us. Most of the people in the world try to do this backwards. Man reaching up to try to grab hold of God By looking at religion and tradition. But salvation is accomplished through the principles of death and of having faith in Jesus death, burial and resurrection. You must admit that you're a Sinner. You must come by faith. And look to Jesus to save you. Jesus explains the plan of salvation in John 3:16-25.
