Do you have a growing wonder of the glory and power of Jesus? In our passage today, Jesus has insisted that the disciples go to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. He had ministered all day to the crowds from a boat, took a nap in the middle of a storm, spoke powerfully to the winds and waves and caused them to cease, and lovingly rebuked His disciples for being afraid to die and for their lack of faith. Now, they are about to be faced with something else that is out of control, dark, and fearful. Once off the boat, they will face a man that is out of control. Society has said there is no hope for this man. He is too much for everyone and has been isolated. He has no friends. His family has separated themselves from him. He is miserable and in pain. Do you believe that anyone is outside the reach of God’s grace? Do you believe that people are unforgiveable? Do you think that people can change? This morning, I want us to see the hope of Jesus Christ in his ability to save prodigals, those living reckless lifestyles, and those who have isolated themselves from society. Jesus is Our All-Powerful Savior, and He can save the soul of anyone, comfort the most miserable, and free people from self-destruction. This morning we will consider 1) The Description of the Darkness of Man 2) The Demon’s Response to Jesus 3) The Deliverance of Our All-Powerful Savior.
