Pontius Pilate was a self-serving governmental administrator within the Roman Empire at the time of Christ. Pilate was born into an elevated social strata, had the airs of snobbish pride, and (most likely)had his eyes on the prize of the next big promotion. He was a powerful man with the weakness of vanity. Three major errors are pointed out in his career as procurator of Palestine. The believer , with the lenses of scripture, will very likely identify remaining sins within him or herself, and thus receive fodder for repentance.
