The righteous have eternal things while the unrighteous have temporal things to invest in and treasure. The stability of the righteous is because of God, because of who God is. He, the godly must trust unwaveringly, delight in above all earthly things, and live fully committed to with a life of obedience to His perfect will and plans. The unrighteous pursue the desires of their heart which is corrupt, self-centered, and seeking immediate gratification. While the ungodly may seem to make progress, be successful, and even pressure the godly to be conformed to them, the godly stand firm. Standing firm and faithful to the God who is creator, sovereign, omnipotent, and omniscient to name but a few reasons to let Him be the anchor and guide for all of life. He is worthy, unchanging, and He loves those who are His own.
