Luke 1:51 says, "He has shown strength with his arm. He has scattered the proud and in the imagination of their hearts."
The idea of being proud or prideful is to cause a thing or oneself to outshine another. And this is all the product of a fallen imagination. It's all an imagination… a falsified imagination. Pride at all levels is mere imagination. And this vain thinking, within those who are functioning with this veil of pride, will attempt to outshine the light and love of Jesus. For which it will scatter the thoughts, trust, treasures, and time everywhere minus the right place. Pride is the veil that keeps the fool from seeing even the simplest forms of God's common grace. (Psalm 119:21; Isaiah 44:18-20; Lamentations 3:65; Isaiah 25:7)
Prideful — to imagine your life and light on a thing outshines and is, therefore, superior than the light, life, and love of God.
Folly is the foolishness of fools who love and live the way of pride.
We need a sound mind to think clearly, correctly, convincingly and most importantly, like Christ.
