Do you ever suffer from spiritual amnesia? I sure do sometimes. It’s easy to allow the press and stress of life to draw our eyes off Christ, as well as the privileges and perspectives of belonging to His Kingdom. This was the Apostle Paul’s concern for Timothy and other Christians: “…always remember that Jesus Christ, a descendant of King David, was raised from the dead. This is the Good News...” (2 Timothy 2:8, NLT). Paul’s passion was that the presence and mission of Jesus remain pre-eminent in Timothy’s mind. Such a perspective would be his best defense against fear in the face of hardship, embarrassment when ridiculed, or apathy due to his own timid nature. In this sermon, we’ll continue our study of 2 Timothy with “Remember Jesus.”
