As we seek to unpack all that God has for us in the fifth commandment, we will continue to look at honor within the sphere of family life. We are still focusing on the duty of parents. Having considered Paul's admonition to not provoke our children to wrath, we will with the help of the Spirit grapple with what it means to bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. This Sunday we will lean heavily on the instruction found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9. I encourage you during the next few days to study out that text along with Eph. 6:4 and Ex. 20:12.
