The law of unintentional CONSEQUENCES at work... We may choose not to listen or give our attention to the Lord but we do not have the power to choose the consequence of our REBELLION. They never estimated the consequence of their lack of SUBMISSION would result in: 1. God bringing calamity upon them. 2. God not giving His ear to their prayer. 3 God demanding His watchman to not intercede or even say a single prayer of mercy over their lives. Imagine having no one to FIGHT for you before the throne of God, at a time when you're in DESPERATE need of a godly man or woman to talk to God on your behalf. Yet because you were not PERSUADED that Jesus was enough for you and not utterly CONVINCED to surrender to His ways, God tells His people to STOP praying over your life. You nor I would have chosen this to be our consequence but sorry friend we don't choose the consequences of our SIN.
