They key similarity between them all is a recognition that this child is the Messiah, the consolation and redemption of Israel they've been waiting for. Jesus has come for both the lowly of society (shepherds), the righteous of society (Simeon), and not just men but women too (Anna). And not only Jews but Jesus comes for Gentiles; in fact He is the Light to the entire world. Like these faithful witnesses, will we join in believing and knowing that Christ is the only solution for mankind's greatest enemies: sin and death?
