We have been in Revelation looking at the fulfillment of the promises about the Lamb whom God would supply as the substitute payment for the cost of our sin against God. That is the end of the story, or at least the beginning of an everlasting story.
When we see Jesus in His incarnation (the adding of humanity to His deity), we are looking at the great hinge-point of the story. It is the in--between point, the crux upon which the story of salvation turns from a promise made to a promise being seen.
Today, in Genesis, we see God respond to our plight with a promise of redemption and salvation and the destruction of all that is associated with sin, the curse, and death. The story of the cross only makes sense in the context of our sin and the hope of redemption that only God can supply.
The New Testament only makes sense if it is attached to the Old Testament, for it is the fulfillment of scores of promises and illustrations of God's love and the punishment of those who have rejected His free gift of salvation.
