Sin without reconciliation results in disaster. The plagues that we find in the bowls are the inversion of what men might expect from the Holy of Holies, and instead of grace and restoration being poured out, it is judgment and calamity upon Israel. They had become like Egypt, only worse, having rejected the clear Word of God, killing the prophets, chief among them Christ, and for their idolatry and blasphemy. Christ is the One who brings war against Jerusalem, Armageddon.
