Jacob was so moved by the refreshing news of his son that his natural affections for his son and appetite for sustainability were the driving force that first moved him to journey to Egypt. Then he made lifestyle worship a priority and offered himself and his ways to God upon the alter at Beersheba and God graciously clued him in on what He'd been doing in this. God's ANSWERS and AFFIRMATIONS on this quest to see his son and sustain his life will be the defining purpose and priority of his agenda.
Lifestyle worship always positions us in the right place, on the right path, to hear from the right Person, that we find the right peace and pleasures, in the stable and unstable times of life and love (Proverbs 3:5-6 ; Psalm 16:11 ; Matthew 6:33 ; Romans 12:1-2).
Jacob said, "Then Israel said, "It is enough, Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die." (Genesis 45:28)
As Proverbs reminds us. "Like cold water on a weary journey, so is refreshing news from a far country" (Proverbs 25:25).
The heart of a disciple, "Then the disciple said, "It is enough, Jesus is my Master and Teacher is alive. I will go and see and learn from him before I die." (Genesis 45:28)
Matthew 10:25... "it's enough for a disciple to be like his teacher and a servant like his master."
All God fearing disciples have a common goal, a common conviction and a common hope (Psalm 119:74).
Nobody ever said we had to do it perfectly... we just want to be like Him who is perfect, who also knows exactly what to do with us — and our imperfections — and our lives.
It's not enough for a disciple to do something perfectly... that's not the aim. The aim is their Master...
