At the forefront of this movement is Douglas Phillips, director of the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival. The SAICFF now features the largest award of any film festival in the world for best of festival. Here Kevin Swanson interviews Phillips on the January, 2009 event.
With the decline of western culture in the morass of post-modern nihilistic relativism, the masses must now sit through the depressing, boring, redemption-less, pointless hooey oozing out of the big studios - as No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood. But the rest of us who have rejected that worldview and its cultural incarnations are thinking maybe an R.I.P. sign would be more appropriate than an Academy Award. And we will wait and watch for Christians to self-consciously realize their own worldviews, so they can bring that to the screen with distinct clarity and sharp antithesis.
