This time, not in the Red Sea, as they were some forty years prior, but in the Jordan, as the Lord would consecrate His people once again that He might bring usher them into that place of dwelling picked out for them. The promised land was to be taken as a holy crusade, where in Israel would eliminate all of those elements within their number, and outside them (the pagan nations), that God might dwell with them in peace and holiness. We find the plan and purpose of God reiterated here, He will deliver His people into a good place, having been set apart by His grace, baptized for worship and warfare.
