God Helped
After it was too late for one man and his family.
When did God help?
When they sought Him and set things in order… God helped them.
We see in 2 Samuel 6 and 1 Chronicles 15 some hard lessons... and even harder lessons to sometimes process and live out.
Let me explain... think about David and Uzzah.
David had Pure Motives...
David had an Unselfish Purpose...
David lived in Passionate Praise...
But these things, pure motives, unselfish purposes, and passionate praise, CANNOT replace or substitute seeking, hearing, trusting, and doing life God's way. And this applies to all of us.
The reality of doing life or anything else without first trusting, seeking, consulting, and honoring the Lord on a matter can only result in lifelessness. Uzzah is just a sample and picture of the consequences of not agreeing and acting on Proverbs 3:5-6. Death is and will always be the result or wage of not glorifying God.
God's solutions are His solutions for us... to seek, trust, understand, and honor. Kind David's motives were pure, his purpose was unselfish and his praise was passionate but he and those with him failed to seek what God had already revealed about the ark of the covenant. Had they simply sought the word on this thing they would have found His solution and Uzzah would have seen the ark make it Jerusalem. But instead... their praise was halted, their purpose delayed, God became the suspect and Uzzah's family received the devastating news they would speak and share life with him again. But all they had to do was open and look in the Book, trust what He said, and act on it.
