INTRO: We considered in the last message the context of Titus 2:13 which says, "…looking for that blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ." We saw that the foregoing context deals with right living. Older men, younger men, older women and younger women, and servants are instructed on godly living. Paul says the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. And this grace teaches us that we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present age.
We also saw that in the following context, in verse 14, that the conduct of our lives is in view. Jesus gave Himself for us that we might be redeemed from every lawless deed, and that He might purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Godly living is in view in the context.
