Modern day ships, with modern day technology, have no need for a lighthouse... UNTIL the modern day technology fails them.
I love it when I stumble across a "vessel" in-distress, that had "equipped themselves" with everything modern. The ones that thought they had the answers for the darkest nights on the high seas of life. They had the "best" a modern world could offer and it had "guided" them through a few rough seas... and they trusted it, UNTIL it all started "crashing" right before their eyes. One "instrument" after another, upon a raging sea, during one of the darkest nights of their lives, was failing themβwhen they needed it most. That's when I love asking them this question, "When's the last time you needed a lighthouse to guide you safely through the darkness?"
When was the last time you asked Him for His light and truth? King David needed them... and I personally don't want to ever get away from needing them... Lord, send out Thy light and Thy truth and lead me safely to You. I need them more than ever!
