Protestants believe (are are supposed to believe) that Christ's death on the cross is sufficient to atone for every sin of His elect. The propitiatory death of Christ is offered once for all time because it satsifies the wrath of God for every sin that every believer would ever commit. No more sacrifices are needed and any more offered would be a great offense. Christ could not possibly be transubstantiated and offered up in the Catholic Mass, since Hebrews explicity teaches that He was offered up only once.
