"If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink." Jesus was not talking about anything physical, and these people knew it. There is a thirst in every person that nothing of this world can satisfy. There is a thirst (deep desire) to know the truth about things that is obvious in a child from a very young age. There is a consciousness of moral weakness and failure, and the guilt of having done wrong, Because of this there is a desire to find forgiveness and restoration. None of this can be satisfied with money, possessions, pleasure, or fame. Only Jesus satisfies that longing in your soul, but we must come to Him, and we must drink.
