Aim: To stay alert, vigilant, and loving in our faith in Christ—as we encounter life's difficulties.
Exegesis: Spiritual cutting detours us. Our fellowship with God (vv. 7-8) and our integrity before God (v. 9) are affected. Ritual cutting disorients us. It takes our eyes off of God's Son (v. 10), plan (v. 11), and truth (v. 12). Verbal cutting damages us. Let us (rather) encourage (v. 13), care for (v. 14), and defend (v. 15) one another.
Key verses: vv. 7-8 ''You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying they truth? This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you.''
