“ Great Sermon! ” Pastor Sean, I have struggled for years understanding how to make sense of the Doctrine of Election. Sadly it seemed to me that the doctrine was taken and misinterpreted by many denominations so that most baptist's only opinion on election was to reject what they saw as the false teaching on it and have no opinion or explanation of the abundance of Biblical verses and references. I feel like I had been taught to skip over or ignore these verses and just reject any reference to "election" that I came across in the Scriptures. If a discussion or preaching was ever had about "election" it always ended up on Calvinism and was dismissed as heresy, but what am I to do with what is a continuing subject in the Bible. Like you mentioned, it runs from Genesis to Revelation with reference after reference...how do we understand this obviously important truth and how to apply it? Thank you for being a Godly leader and humble servant in tackling this doctrine. It was the most informative, applicable, solid preaching on the subject I have ever heard.
