In application, we need to be aware of erudite elitists who question God's Word. In vv. 34-38, we see the theological acumen of Jesus. He rejects their premise with the truth about eternity. We need to thoughtfully prepare for eternal life and also trust our Creator, that as believers, our future will be greater than imagined. In vv. 39-40, we see the cessation of the antagonists' inquiries. We learn from this that God silences the scoffers. In conclusion, Christ has promised resurrection to life for all who believe in Him. This will be greater than we can imagine.
