What about the problem of evil? The counter-question is what about the problem of good? W/human depravity, how are any of us doing good? Secular humanism has no satisfactory answer. There seems to be an objective morale written inside all of us. 2 Arguments against it: Cultural & Moral Relativism. They both call people to accept a person's actions even if they don't agree w/it because it's the way they were raised or part of their culture. Our intrinsic value of right & wrong comes from something above humanity, culture, and society. It demands a Moral Law Giver. Apart from God, there can be no objective moral standard. Romans 1 tell us we often suppress this in our lives. Atheists often cite society or the greater good as a reason to do good but that doesn't answer the question. How do we know to be good? Romans 2:14-16. A SIMPLE ARGUMENT: 1.) If GOD doesn't exist, then objective moral values don't exist. 2.) We know objective moral values do exist. 3.) Therefore, GOD exists. HOW TO ENGAGE PEOPLE: 1.) Listen to the stories of others, it's often filled w/pain & hurt. Many have been hurt by religion in the past. 2.) Express empathy while listening because many people are angry. 3.) Be patient w/people & sharing your story & God's love. Give people your time. 4.) Pray for discernment; what to say, when to speak, when to press etc. 5.) Infuse everything w/Scripture. It's the greatest power we can share. 6.) Pray for strength, we're fighting Satan in a spiritual battle. 7.) Love people. Show them the love God's given you. Pray for others to come in your path to share your story & His with.
