As Isaac moves to Gerar, God restates His covenant with Isaac with a command to stay in the land resulting in a multitude of blessings. In spite of this we see a replay of the same sin Isaac's father Abraham fell into: the misrepresentation of a wife as a sister in the face of fear. Again we see the moral weakness of a man of God, and the chastisement of a godly man by a Pagan king on the importance of the sacred institution of marriage.
