Job is relevant to all believers, because we all face suffering sometime in our life. There is no reason given for our suffering, but all that happens is for the glory of God. Why do the Righteous suffer? is never answered.
From Job we learn about the mercy of God. God is sovereign and is always in control. Job was more righteous than any man living on the earth at the time. God says so. Sin was not the cause of his suffering.
The three friends did care about Job. They travelled many miles to be with him. Much of what they say is true, but also much is wrong. Bad theology corrupts good theology. The friends become a tool of Satan in bringing more pain to Job rather than comfort.
This Godly man felt the pain, and regretted the day he was born or wished he were stillborn. He never sinned in all his complaints and never blamed God. Death is the great equalizer for men. He wishes he could die to escape his suffering. Job knew that God is in control of both the pleasure and pain that comes to man.
