INTRO: We are presently making our way through the minor prophets and we had come to the book of Nahum. So we happen to be right in the middle of the series and I want to take a little intermission and do two messages on the first of Jesus parables in Matthew 13. I was alerted to a certain matter this week, and immediately my mind went to this parable which is given in Matthew 13:1-9 and its interpretation in 18-23.
Now I want to do something very unorthodox as far as preaching is concerned. I want to talk to us about the four kinds of soil, which I believe represent four kinds of human hearts. But I want to speak first about the 2nd and 3rd kind of soil, and leave the introduction to this passage till the next message when I want to give the introduction to the passage and deal with the 1st and 4rth kinds of soil. That is about as mixed up as you can get. I can assure you though, whether rightly so or not, there is a method to my madness.
